Mason-Dixon Music Junction

About Us

Bernie Miller has been involved with music for over 40 years. Over the past several years, he's been in charge of finding entertainment for various organizations he belongs to and sometimes this was quite a task. It involved numerous phone calls, going to music stores and checking bulletin boards, following up on a tip, or actually going out to different places to hear a band or musician. Then, there were the many business cards of bands, DJ's, and KJ's he's collected over the years. Many times he couldn't find the type of music he was looking for and, if he did, the band or musician was already booked. Quite a few weren't even in business anymore and all of this involved a lot of time and footwork.

In a conversation about how frustrating is was, I made a comment about how nice it would be to have a central place where Delmarva bands and musicians could list their services, and maybe even their schedules, making it easier to find them. The more we talked about it, the more ideas we came up with. In January 2003, I started working on getting this idea to become a reality. I'm not an expert but, I've been doing graphic design and Internet work (off and on) for almost six years. Some of my first web design work was the original Rt. 13 Outlet Market and Signworks web sites. I've owned the domain of mason-dixon.net since December of 1998. So, with Bernie's knowledge of music and my knowledge of the Internet, "Mason-Dixon Music Junction"   has been created.

The Internet has become "THE PLACE" to find everything. It's easily accessible and when you consider the fact that one out of every three homes, and most businesses, now have computers and connect to the Internet it becomes the most logical and economical place for this idea. There are over 1,249,000 people just on the Delmarva Peninsula and out of those 1,249,000 people there are many talented musicians and bands... not to mention places to go! We hope to list them all and see you here!
